Science Outreach Center The Science Outreach Center at SFU was established to develop relevant, effective, and systemic efforts for promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the community; increasing the number of students pursuing an education in STEM fields; and supporting K-12 schools and their students in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Current programs include the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Talent Expansion Program (STEP) through NSF, Teaming Educators for Applied Math and Science Learning Program (TEAMS) in partnership with Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 and funded through the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and Rural Outreach Chemistry for Kids (ROCK).
