The Team 
There are 42 staff members who live in the residence halls and student apartments with the students, including 38 student resident assistants (RAs) who assist residents in having a successful college experience.

The staff seeks to create an atmosphere that . . .

· promotes social interaction,

· promotes interaction with faculty,
· enhances an appreciation of differences and
· supports student learning.

 Who We Are  
The staff includes a director, an assistant director, three residence life coordinators and 40 resident assistants. They all have diverse roles but strive to make the Saint Francis University experience the best it can be.

 

Director of Residence Life

The Director of Residence Life is a full-time professional staff member who supervises all aspects of the residence halls and apartments, including personnel, programming, policy formulation, budgeting and renovations. The Director works closely with all members of the Residence Life Staff to provide a well-balanced program.

Assistant Director of Residence Life

The Assistant Director is a full-time professional staff member who resides on campus and supervises the south campus area consisting of five residence halls and two apartment buildings. The Assistant Director is responsible for coordinating staff selection and placement, RA training, day-to-day supervision of staff members, program coordination, administrative details for the residence halls and duty coverage on campus. The Assistant Director is also a judicial hearing officer.

The Coordinator is a full-time professional staff member who resides on campus and supervises an area consisting of five residence halls and two apartment buildings. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating staff selection and placement, RA training, day-to-day supervision of staff members, program coordination, administrative details for the residence halls and duty coverage on campus. The Coordinator is also a judicial hearing officer.

Resident Assistants (RAs)

Each floor is staffed with at least one RA who has demonstrated a commitment to the University and the residence halls. The University has approximately one RA per 30 residents. Resident Assistants are full-time students who work as helpers, resource people, educators, administrators, interpreters of college policies and regulations, and role models. A successful Resident Assistant achieves a proper balance of the many RA roles with an ultimate goal of aiding each resident in his/her growth as a person and a student. The RAs have a QPA of at least a 2.5 and are of sophomore, junior or senior status.

What We Do  
The staff serves many functions in support of the student's education. 

Provide Housing
            
Maintaining safe, secure facilities, that are clean and comfortable.

Maintain Community
            
Protecting the rights of all students by promoting community standards on the floors, and interpreting college policy.

Enhance the Learning Experience
            Presenting challenges and encouraging participation in experiences that support the development of the Saint Francis University student.

Address Personal Issues and Challenges
            
Providing a lot of ears to listen and shoulders to lean on; making appropriate referrals, and encouraging responsible decision-making.

Encourage Social Interaction 
            Sponsoring in-hall activities and trips to off-campus events.
