Major Concentrations
You earn a B.S. in Computer Science by completing 36 credits from selected Computer Science courses, concentrating in one of these major areas of focus, including:
- Information Technology and Security - the first track is a preparation for administration and management of computer systems, the second track places particular attention on issues related to security
- Software Development - for a career in programming or software engineering
- General - a blend of Computer Science and Management Information Systems

Minor Options
A minor in Computer Science is offered for students from any major who complete the core skills courses and at least two Computer Science electives, for a total of at least 15 credits in Computer Science.
A minor in Management Information Systems (MIS) may be earned by taking at least 15 credits of Computer Science and MIS courses, including required courses:
- Introduction to Computer Systems (CPSC 101)
- Management Information Systems (CPSC 102 or MIS 102)
- E-Commerce (CPSC 342 or MIS 342)
- Systems Analysis and Design (CPSC 343 or MIS 343)
- Introductory Java Programming (CPSC 121) OR Computer Programming with Business Applications (CPSC 110 or MIS 110)
